What I'm reading...

"TUMOR" ....Written by Joshua Hale Fialkov / Illustrations by Noel Tuazon

I have to say "Bravo" to Joshua Hales Graphic Novel and not just because I have an autographed copy. This book from the first page reeks of big screen aspirations and I've just learned that Director Samuel Bayer has picked an adaptation of the book as his new production companies first project. This to me says a lot about Joshua Hale.  His vision for the book was bleak and all too realistic when taken into the context of its Protagonist. The day to day journey of Frank Armstrong is hampered by hallucinations, missing time and thugs lurking in the dark and makes you want to turn every page, not to mention the stories twist.
Hopefully Hollywoods allure doesn't steal Hale away from the Graphic novel world and we get more juicy plots and hopeless characters...you know real world stuff.

P.S. Met Joshua at the LA festival of books and he gave me some advise. He said find an artist you can work with and all your problems are solved...he was right!

THE WALKING DEAD- COMPENDIUM ONE
I have a guilty pleasure and have since the age of nine. That was the first time I saw Dawn of the dead and ever since that fateful day I have had Zombies on the brain. So it's no wonder I remained in a comatose stance for an extended period of time when I heard they were making a series of the comic sensation The walking dead. I am however guilty of not picking up the comics to read til now...I've been busy gimme a break!
This volume is a compilation of the collected issue 1-48 and is a great primer for those who want to catch up and own a beautifully compiled offering of Zombie goodness.
